STUFF FOR 3/30/14
YOGA
Just did Yoga for the first half hour to the break.

I still felt weak, even just doing the first half hour. This cold or Flu, or zombie virus, or whatever I have had for a week, has seriously given me an good old fashioned ass kicking.

FOOD
Breakfast
Scrambled Eggs

Lunch
Waffle

Dinner
Bowl of Chicken Soup
Bread

IN CLOSING

P90X DAY 40: Core Synergistics...just barely.

STUFF FOR 3/29/14
CORE
 photo coresynergistics_zps7ff78cd5.jpg

As I was a couple excercises in, I immediately thought, I should have took still another day off to recover from this FLU. I was able to get through the whole DVD, but did have to hit pause quite a few times.

I wanted to try to push through it, just because I know myself. I did not want to take a couple days off in a row, then another one, then the next thing I know I'm starting P90X all over again from the begining, 2 months later.

Mentally, perhaps these first 40 days have changed my way of thinking. I don't really believe at this point I would allow myself to do nothing again for weeks and have to start back at the begining, but I figured just to be safe, I'd torture myself and force the Core workout.

OTHER STUFF
Bat
Heavy x 12 *** Light x 12 *** Heavy x 12 *** Light x 12 *** Heavy x 12 *** 33OZ x 20 ***

FOOD
Well, after I thought my apetite took a turn for the better I still couldn't really eat too much. Finally toward the end of the day, I started feeling better.

Turkey and Cheese Hoagie. No Mayo
Chips
6 Coor Lites

IN CLOSING
In honor of all the Banana Rolls and Superman Banana's I've done:

P90X DAY 39: Still More Nothing. Sort of.

STUFF FOR 3/28/14
I'm still not at the point where I wanted to attempt another workout. I'm still coughing my head off and feeling weak.

So, like Jon Taffer at a Bar where the cook is handling raw chicken. I decided to "SHUT IT DOWN!," for one more day.

OTHER STUFF
Handgrips
I worked mostly with the 200lbers and did some 250lb negatives. When I first started I was only able to close the 150lb grips once during the entire routine. See my blog from 2/27. For the hell of it, I tried a few reps with them today as well, and was able to close the grip nearly everytime. Definitely some increased hand strength, so at least I know this isn't a complete waste of my time.

FOOD
Breakfast
(2) slices of Rye bread with butter

Snack
half of a 100 CAL peanut butter thing

Dinner
(3) Slices of Pizza
Fries
Half a Cheese Steak
(3) Coors Lites.

Well. I got my appetite back, so there's that. Shitty food, to eat, yeah, I know. But, I should have some energy to do some Core tomorrow.

IN CLOSING:
If anybody would like to learn some propper gym form, this video is a must:

STUFF FOR 3/27/14
Well, when I said I was stupid for pushing it, and doing Yoga as well as Core, I was correct.

To quote Tony. I "got all jacked up about the numbers." Mentally at I'm a point now where I'm obsessed with keeping up with the program. Or my version of it anyway. It's tough not to, especially when I'm seeing some results.

I wasn't feeling great and pushed myself to do too much and missed the next day because of it. So, even though I'll probably still do the exact same thing again, because I'm stupid, maybe, just maybe, I'll at least think twice about it, and give my self a couple days to recover from the FLU, or whatever horrible ailment that befell me, AND screwed up my P90X routine.

FOOD
Breakfast
2 slices of Rye Bread with butter

Dinner
Chicken Soup.

That was about all I could force myself to eat

IN CLOSING:

P90X DAY 37: Yoga and Core Synergistics...because I'm stupid.

STUFF FOR 3/26/14
I still felt pretty awful. Though, slightly less awful than the day before. I was able to at least function. A smart human being would have probably given themselves one more day to recover. But, like Joe Pesci admits in this scene from Casino, "I'm @#$%in' stupid."

YOGA
Since I missed YOGA, the day before, I forced myself to get it done before Core.
For the first time since I started P90X on 2/18, I went past the first half hour YOGA to include the right angle pose. I was actually pretty impressed with myself. That move where you have to reach under your leg was actually not complete torture this time around. So, there's that.

CORE SYNERGISTICS
 photo coresynergistics_zps7ff78cd5.jpg

Today's offical workout was Core. Since I am sick. I was feeling pretty wiped out, but I made it through. Looking back at my notes from 5 years ago, I was still on pace with what I did back then. One difference was the prison pushups. I could only get to 4. Normally I would have tried to push it, but I figured I'd take a little easy. Also the Plank to Chataranga Run was more of a Plank only jog.

OTHER STUFF
Bat
I found a small Tee Ball bat to use for the "light" bat reps. Not sure on the weight yet. I'll weigh it eventually

Heavy x 12 *** Light x 12 *** Heavy x 12 *** Light x 12 *** Heavy x 12 *** 33OZ x 20 ***

FOOD
Lunch
(4) Nutri Grain Waffles with butter and Syrup.

Dinner
Turkey and Cheese Hoagie. Lettuce Onion. Lite Oil. No Mayo.

IN CLOSING
This was pretty much me during my fever induced delirum 2 past couple days:

STUFF FOR 3/25/14
Well. Today was supposed to be YOGA. The first day of my first recovery week.

I pushed my Recovery week back twice. So, I'm not exactly following the P90X schedule per say.

Since I was unable to even get myself out of bed, much less perform a reverse warrior. I decided to take the day off.

This was pretty much how I felt:

P90X DAY 35: Yoga and I feel awful.

Well, I feel like shit. As I mentioned it was my Anniversary and there's some bizarre tradition where you eat a piece of wedding cake a year later. SO, I had a piece of my year old Wedding Cake from the very top, that we froze. Perhaps it is a coincidence, I'm assuming not, but I had a fever and Chills, then I was sweating my ass off. Just to play it safe, my advice would be to eat your Wedding Cake at your Wedding. Only at your Wedding.

STUFF FOR 3/24/14
Instead of the Stretch, I did the 1st half hour of Yoga...Again. Since I will be entering my Recovery week (which I put off for 2 weeks) I did the pushups before going into downward dog each time.

OTHER STUFF
Hand Grips
Did some reps with the 200lbers and Negatives with the 250's

P90X DAY 34: An 8 Mile Run and a Year Old Wedding Cake.

STUFF FOR 3/23/14
Today was supposed to be Kenpo Karate. I'm not sure why I feel the need to explain this each time, but I dislike that DVD. So, instead, I go running.

I was hoping to get to 10 miles, but I screwed around too much before I left and ran out of time. On the plus side, I felt really strong at 8 miles. 8.01 to be exact.

I was finally able to get 25 reps on each leg for the first excercise. I hate that one. And that guy Eric even added weights to it. Freakin' showoff.

Anyway. As I was doing Chair Salutations, I happened to look up at the screen to see Dreya Weber, doing this long dramatic move, before she puts her hands in the air. She's wasted like 5 seconds each time. I never noticed it before. Doggin' it.

OTHER STUFF

P90X DAY 32: Yoga & Arms/Shoulders

STUFF FOR 3/21/14
ARMS/SHOULDERS
 photo armsshoulders1_zps0d23fab0.jpg
 photo armsshoulders2_zps01a33ca8.jpg

Since I missed this workout the day before I worked it in early in the morning. I keep procrastinating on buying 25lb weights. Next phase I need to get them.

YOGA
Today was actually the Yoga day. Again, I only did the first half hour. I have not done the entire Yoga DVD since I started, but I'm getting results, so I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing.

OTHER STUFF
Hand grips
For the Hand Grips I felt pretty good today. I worked mainly with the 200lbers. I also did some negatives with the 250lb grips. For those scoring at home a "Negative" with hand grips is when you force the grip shut and then try to keep it closed. Well, the 250lb grip is tough as shit to close even with two hands. I tried to hold it closed for 5 seconds, but couldn't even come close to keeping the ends together. Eventually I'll get there.

Bat
12x Heavy Bat *** 12x 33oz

Infield
6 Minutes 30 Seconds

FOOD
For Breakfast, I was actually feeling slightly sick to my stomach after Arms/Shoulders, I couldn't really even force myself to eat. I know it's BAD, but I skipped it.

We have a bunch of horrible stuff at work, Snacks, Chips, Reeses Peanut butter cups, so I had a little bit of each.

Dinner
I got my appetite back
8 Hot Wings
Fries
Half Cheese Steak
7 Coors Lites

Essentially I ate horribly with Dinner and even worse skipping Breakfast and Lunch. BUT, I'll get back on track...MONDAY.

IN CLOSING
Some Classic Creed. Not the band. I think they're awful. However, The Band is great.
